报告摘要: Flows with moving contact lines form an important class of multiphase flows that appear in nature and in industrial applications, including droplet spreading, coating flows, two-phase flows in porous media etc. The manner in which contact line moves is a subject of long-standing debate in the mathematical and physical context. The disparity of length scales of the flows in the vicinity of moving contact lines makes numerical simulation with the full Navier-Stokes equations a highly challenging job. Several numerical methods for multiphase flows have recently adapted to the presence of moving contact lines, although using formulations that enable contact line motion in an ad-hoc manner in some degree. However, within the limited resolution that has been achieved so far, some important new insights have been obtain, confirming the significance of the interplay between the macroscopic motion and the contact line dynamics. In this talk, the recent progress in the numerical solution of moving contact lines will be addressed, including models and applications.
