        From Novel Pseudorotaxanes, Supramolecular Polymers to Mechanically-Responsive Polymers-Design, Preparation and Applications
报告内容简介:Pseudorotaxane, which is the necessary precursor for many supramolecular species, such as rotaxanes, catenanes and polypseudorotaxanes, has been widely used to make novel molecular machines, self-repairable materials and drug delivery materials. The development of novel pseudorotaxane systems with high association constant and novel topology is an important direction in supramolecular chemistry. In my presentation, the design and preparation of a series novel easily-prepared pseudocryptand-type [2]pseudorotaxanes with remarkably improved association constants will be discussed. Moreover, design and development of novel non-covalent bond based supramolecular polymers have continuously attracted considerable attention due to their fundamental and technological importance toward human life as new synthetic materials. In the second part, I will talk about the preparation of novel AA BB type supramolecular polymers with high molecular weight and interesting pseudorotaxane architectures. In addition, since mechanical force is a well-known factor triggering mechanical bond scission, which eventually causes polymer material failure, it is of high significance to characterize the mechanical strength of chemical bonds in order to prevent the failure of materials and design of strong materials. Finally, I will talk about a robust tool established by us to characterize the relative mechanical strength of chemical bonds by employing sonication technique and non-scissile mechanical reaction of mechanophores.

报告人简介:牛振斌,2005年硕士毕业于中国科学技术大学化学院,2011年博士毕业于美国弗吉尼亚理工大学化学系,目前在美国橡树岭国家实验室从事新型超分子体系、机械相应的高分子材料和高分子水凝胶材料方面的研究工作。在Chemical Reviews,Journal of the American Chemical Society和Organic Letters等国际著名刊物上发表高档次学术论文近二十余篇。
