报告题目:Knee Joint Biomechanics and Applications
报告摘要:
The knee joint is the most injured for both athletes and non-athletes. For young people, the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury is very common, whereas the knee osteoarthritis is often seen in people older than 65 years. Untreated ACL injury leads to knee osteoarthritis. This presentation covers our research activities in the area. First, we will discuss the knee joint kinematics following ACL injury and reconstruction. Second, the mechanical variables in ACL reconstruction and the effects of different reconstruction techniques on joint kinematics will be discussed. Third, the joint kinematics following total knee arthroplasty (TKA) and effects of mobile-bearing and fixed-bearing implants on joint kinematics are presented. Fourth, we will discuss the knee internal force during different rehabilitation exercises. Better understanding of knee joint biomechanics will improve current treatments and rehab protocols, therefore, the quality of life.
