报告人简介：

蔡天骥教授，于美国北卡莱纳大学教堂山分校社会学系获得博士学位，目前为澳门大学社会学系助理教授。蔡教授的研究领域包括基因与环境的交互影响、健康行为、定量研究方法、社会网络分析等领域。蔡教授目前已经在国际核心刊物上发表专业论文十余篇，包括Demography, International Migration Review和Sociological Methodology等国际顶级学术期刊。蔡教授采用目前国际上前沿的统计方法，并吸取基因科学和现代医学最新成果，进行社会学与基因科学的交叉学科研究。他的研究必将极大丰富我们对这些领域的理解，进一步拓展社会学和健康研究的学科边界。

内容简介：

 Social scientists have been interested in studying the interactive process between social and genetic factors in shaping health outcomes. With technological developments in collecting and measuring biological information, biomarkers are increasingly included in large-scale population-based social surveys. This presentation will provide an overview of various strategies of incorporating biomarkers in modeling health outcomes. The development of modeling strategies is driven by both theoretical development, and data availability. In summary, including biomarkers in health outcome studies has greatly expanded our understanding of how social factors influence health outcomes. However, these modeling strategies are just the beginning with the rapid development of the genetics research.
