1. Making Mental Illness: The rise of psychiatric drugs in the West after the Second World War. 制造精神疾病:二战后西方精神药物的兴起
时间:4月26日(周二)下午14:10-15:40
地点:校本部AJ207
讲座简介:
One of the most noticeable changes in twentieth-century modern medicine is the rise of psycho-pharmaceuticals, drugs to treat mental illness, after the Second World War in the West. In little more than two decades from 1945 these products went from being virtually unknown to those which were prescribed to millions. This presentation looks at the USA, the key market for these products in this period, and ways in which historians have explained the rise of psychiatric drugs.
