报告人简介：

阮炼博士（Dr. Lian J. Ruan）：1984年北京大学历史学学士，1988年美国加利福利亚洛杉矶分校（UCLA）历史学（非洲史）硕士，1990年美国伊利诺大学厄巴那-香槟分校（UIUC）图书信息学硕士，2011年美国伊利诺大学厄巴那-香槟分校（UIUC）图书信息学博士。在美国伊州消防服务培训学院图书馆从事27年管理工作并参与12年中美国际合作项目，任伊大伊州消防服务培训学院图书馆馆长和该院中国国际合作项目负责人，并任伊大图书信息学院兼职教授，阮炼博士工作出色，多次获奖。她的研究兴趣广泛，出版多种论文专著，其中包括消防信息及读者信息行为和中美图书馆交流发展趋势。她从2000开始多次担任中美项目翻译，其高超的口译和笔译水平多次获得同仁和听众的褒奖。在图书信息和消防的中美交流上有多项出色贡献。她在美国图情领域担任多个委员会的职务，是美国华人图书馆员协会会长（2015/2016），突出的领导才能得到多次认可和表扬。

Dr. Lian J. Ruan

Dr. Lian J. Ruan, received Bachelor Degree in History from Peking University in 1984,Master in History (African History) from University of California at Los Angeles in 1988, Master in Science (Library and Information Science) from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1990, Ph.D. in Library and Information Science from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2011. She is Head Librarian at the Illinois Fire Service Institute, University of Illinois for 27 years and Director of the US-China International Programs for 12 years. She is an adjunct faculty at the University of Illinois Graduate School of Library and Information Science and won many prizes for her outstanding works. She has a broad range of research interest with many publications, including fire science information and user information behavior and development of the US-Chinese library relations. She has served as translator in China-US programs since 2000. Her high quality and skills in oral and written translation are well-recognized by her colleagues and the audience. She serves on many committees in the library and information science fields in the United States, including President of the Chinese American Librarians Association (2015/2016). Her outstanding leadership has been well praised with awards.
