Shanghai University is one of the 100 key universities in
China’s “211” project. It is located in the northwestern
part of Shanghai, China’s economic, financial, trade and
transportation center. It has beautiful campuses,
well-equipped facilities, and what is most important, a
first-rate faculty, providing good studying condition and
living environment for students. Since 1976 when our college
began to enroll international students, more than 6,000
international students from 62 countries have completed their
studies at this university. Besides learning Chinese, many of
them have received Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctor’s
Degree in different subjects or disciplines. In 2002, a total
of 842 international students studied in this university. We
will make greater contributions to the cultivation of talented
personnel for different countries in the world and to the
development of friendship, cooperation and exchanges between
