Technology
School of Film and Television Technology
is one of the schools with distinguishing features in
Shanghai University, mainly responsible for cultivating
the complex qualified personnel in the field of playwright-director,
film & television making, audio-visual technology
and news broadcasting for film studios, television stations,
broadcasting stations, audio-visual publishing houses,
newspapers and magazine offices and concerning enterprises
in Shanghai and some other provinces and municipalities.
At present the school consists of three
departments, including the Film and Television Arts
Department, Film and Television Engineering Department
and News Broadcasting Department, as well as a TV production
institution, offering bachelor-degree courses in the
fields of playwright and broadcasting and television
directing, film and television journalism, film and
television technology, and master degree courses in
the fields of broadcasting & television arts, film,
and mass media.
In addition, the school has established
Film & Television Education Experimental Center
and Audio-Visual Data Center, including Television Studio,
Television Editing Laboratory , Cable TV & Satellite
Television Laboratory, Image Processing Laboratory,
Acoustical Frequency Measuring & Post-production
Laboratory.

The Resume of Xie Jin
Xie Jin was born in November,1923 from
an intellectual family in Shangyu County of Zhejiang
Province. In 1941, he entered Jiang’an National Academy
of Drama in Sichuan Province. He began his career as
a film director in 1948, and his masterpieces include
Woman Basketball Player No.5 and Red Women Military.
From then on, many films directed by Xie Jin have frequently
won national and international awards. Now no other
film director has won more honors than him in China.
Xie Jin’s works have been accepted and appreciated by
billions of audiences at home and abroad. Some oversea
cinematic critics praise him as most renowned Chinese
in contemporary international filmdom.
Xie Jin has been chairman of the national
film Golden--Rooster Award judging panel for three times.
He has also been invited as a member in the judging
panel for Venice International Film Festival, Tokyo
International Film Festival, India International Film
Festival, Tashkent Film Festival, Algeria Film Festival
and Manila International Film Festival.
Now Xie Jin is a member of the standing
committee of CPPC, executive vice-chairman of CFLAC,
commissioner of American Academy of Motion Picture Arts
and Sciences, commissioner of American Trade Union of
Directors of Motion Picture, vice-chairman of China
Disabled Persons’ Federation as well as guest professor
of Fudan University.

Xie Jin Film and TV Arts in Shanghai Teachers University(2000).
