The History of Evening School
Our
College of Liberal Arts is based on the branch school of Fudan University,
which was founded in the winter of 1978. In the March of 1980, we set up the
evening school, giving the specialty of library science of three-year
schooling. Later, we successively started the specialties of archives, secretary,
law, sociology, television production and writing and directing, broadcasting,
administration, cultural management, television programme production, foreign
secretary, advertisement, television camera, broadcaster, sound course and so
on. From 1980 till now, we have more than 3000 graduates. We run our school in
independent and cooperative pattern, which both gives free rein to the advantage
of teachers and utilizes all sectors of society giving support to school
education. According to the need of talents of employment market, we throw off
the yoke of full-time specialties by adding new specialties and offering new
courses so as not only to help the government office workers to broaden their
knowledge but also to push our full-time specialties work forward. At the moment,
we develop international cooperation actively, other than establishing
institutes, by running the college with Australia University in order to train the
talents that are required by the construction of an international big city of
Shanghai.
Specialty and Aim
NO.1 The Instructional Plan of Archives
1、Aims
The specialty is aimed to train the senior talents who have all round
development of morality, intelligence and physique, who have profound basic
theory and study capability and adapt to archives and information management in
government and enterprises.
2、Basic Requirements
（1） Be
high-level in Marxism, Mao Zedong Thought and high degree of ideological
sophistication.
（2） Have profound basic theory of archives and be capable
of analyzing, refining and reutilizing information.
（3） Be proficient in
using English to read and analyze foreign archives information.
（4） Be
able to utilize computer software to solve practical problems in archives
information.
（5） Be able to take advantage of modern information
technique to do information study and get self-improvement and study
continuously.

Cultural and Arts Management (Arts of Training
School)
1、Aims
The specialty is aimed to train the practical talents who have all round
development of morality, intelligence and physique, who have basic theory of
culture and arts and are qualified to manage the cultural and artistic unit in
order to meet the needs of the construction of socialism spiritual civilization
and cultural development of the international big city of Shanghai.
2、 Basic Requirements
（1） Be
high-level in Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought and Den Xiaoping Theory and
policy and laws of cultural management.
（2） Have all round cultural and
artistic accomplishment and skill in management.
（3） Be proficient in
foreign languages and computer and be able to take advantage of modern
technology to get self-improvement and study continuously.
（4） Be capable
of making cultural and artistic plans and analyzing cultural market.

Have good psychological quality and be good at social contact.

Management

suburban or urban archives state or foreign enterprises to meet the needs of the
development of economy of Shanghai.

high-level in Marxism and high-degree of ideological sophistication, understand
laws and policy and can also obey them.
（2） Have profound basic theory
and skill in archives management.
（3） Be able to collect, analyze and
reutilize archives information.
（4） Be proficient in foreign language and
computer.
（5） Be able to take advantage of modern information technique
to do information collecting, get self-improvement and study continuing.

(Specialty of Training School)
1.Aims
The specialty is aimed to train the specialized talents who have all round
development of morality, intelligence and physique, who have high-level in
culture profession and secretary and skill in foreign enterprises and foreign
organization management to meet the needs of the construction of socialism
economy and the development of it of the international big city of
Shanghai.
2.Basic Requirements

Endorse the Four Cardinal Principles and have high degree of ideological
sophistication, understand laws and policy and can also obey them.

Have profound basic theory knowledge and cover a wider range of knowledge.
（3）
Be capable of doing practical work independently and coping with foreign
affairs.
（4） Be proficient in using English and computer and be able to
take advantage of modern information technique to get message and get
self-improvement and study continuously.

1. International Cooperative School-running
In order to train the talents that are required by the construction of an international city of Shanghai, approved by college of adult education of Shanghai University, an agreement on school-running has been reached by Ministry of Education of south Australia and our institute, the cooperative items include: English training of all levels, high-ranking training of community service, courses of graduate students, etc. Teachers from China and Australia hold teaching post of all the lessons above together. Part of the lessons will be finished in Australia. Moreover, we plan to have further cooperation with Australia on education of record of formal schooling.
2. Training of Various Kinds
Besides the students of the education of record of formal schooling, the adult education institute of our college also take in training classes of all kinds of self-study examinations and non-self-study examinations.
