ICIS 2012 was held successfully in Shanghai University

The 11th International Conference on Computer and Information Science (ICIS 2012) was held successfully at Pine City Hotel, Shanghai, China, from May 30 to June 1 2012. The conference was sponsored by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the International Association for Computer and Information Science (ACIS), co-sponsored by Shanghai University, China and in cooperation with the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) and Shanghai Key Laboratory of Computer Software Testing and Evaluating.


Two symposiums, IIAI/ACIS International Symposium on Innovative E-Services and Information Systems (IEIS 2012) and IIAI/ACIS International Symposium on Industrial Information Management and System (IIMS 2012), and the 10th International Conference on Software Engineering Research, Management and Applications (SERA 2012) were held with ICIS 2012

The conference brought together over 140 researchers and practitioners from more than 25 countries/regions to exchange their research ideas and results and to discuss the state of the art in the areas of the conference. Professor Yongwei WU from Tsinghua University of China gave a keynote talk on data socialization and cloud storage. In particular, the participants of the conference have got a chance to hear from renowned Turing Award winner, Professor Niklaus Wirth from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH-Zurich) Switzerland. Professor Wirth delivered his talk on Education for Understanding, not just Knowledge and Skills or How to Cope with Proliferating Complexity.
