1. Classrooms
The Chinese Language teaching area for international students is mainly located in Classroom Building D. There are totally 7 classrooms available. Among them there are 3 multimedia language laboratory with forty seats.
2. Dormitory
The international students’ dormitory consists of four apartment buildings linked together, named Building V and Building Z & W, which started using in the year of 2001, 2006 & 2008. With 186 rooms & 280 rooms in which there are 259 beds & 360 beds, the building can accommodate 245 & 360 students.
Staff members are particularly assigned to take the responsibility of the security and service 24 hours a day. Boiled water is available. All the rooms are well furnished and equipped and look neat and beautiful. Each building has its own elevator except Z & W building. Life turns out to be convenient.
There is a laundry room with pre-paid washing machines in each building and a mini-shop only in V building selling foods and articles for the daily life for the convenience of international students.

3. Sports and Recreational Facilities
On the campus, there are various types of sports and recreational facilities open to the students with reasonable price, such as 3 standard football fields, 26 basketball courts, 18 volleyball courts, 16 tennis courts, 1 standard swimming pool and 1 gym center, etc.
4. Services
The following services for international students are free of charge.

(3) Sending fax within Shanghai
The following services will be charged.
(1) Picking up from or sending to the airport:
RMB 250 per person per time for Hongqiao Airport
RMB 300 per person per time for Pudong Airport
(2) Receiving and sending fax
RMB 10 per page (A4) of sending international fax
RMB 5 per page (A4) of sending domestic fax
Free of charge for receiving fax

Yanchang Campus
|
|
1. Classrooms
The Chinese Language teaching area for international students is mainly located in Classroom Building next to Dorm. There are totally 12 classrooms available, among them is a multimedia language laboratory with 24 seats.
2. Dormitory
The international students’ dormitory consists of four apartment buildings linked together, named Building Xinyuan, which started using in the year of 2002.With 193 rooms (only 4 double rooms)in which there are 198 beds, the building can accommodate 198 students.
D building is finished in 2009, with 20 suites (3 double rooms and 1 single room in a suite), can provide living for 145 persons.
Staff members are particularly assigned to take the responsibility of the security and service 24 hours a day. Boiled water is available in wash rooms of each floor. All the rooms are well furnished and equipped and look neat and beautiful.
There is a laundry room each floor with pre-paid washing machines and a mini-shop selling foods and articles for the daily life for the convenience of international students.

A Brief Introduction to the Campus Environment

1. Baoshan Campus
1) Transportation
Baoshan Campus of Shanghai University is located in the northwestern part of Shanghai, about 15km from the city center and it takes about 30 minutes to get to the campus from the People's Square by taxi with RMB 40.
Subway will be ready round the end of 2009.

Yanchang campus is located in the northwestern part of Shanghai, 8 km from the city center and it takes about 15 minutes to go to campus from the People’s Square by taxi with RMB 20.
Subway (Line 1) is now ready at Yanchang station within 5 min. walk from school.

Students’ Activities
|
|
1. Sports Activities
With the active participation of both teachers and international students, the College organizes every semester various sports activities and competitions such as table tennis, billiard, bowling and basketball matches, which enriches the extracurricular life of the international students.
2. Visits and Sightseeing
Aiming at deepening international students’ understanding of China, the College provides free visit and touring projects every semester, including visiting famous scenic spots in Shanghai and making excursions, etc., which diversifies the extracurricular life of the international students.
3. Recreational Activities
Every year the College will invite all the international students and their teachers to join the New Year Evening Party at which they can share the delicious buffet dinner and appreciate the performance of both the teachers and the international students themselves. It has been recognized as a traditional activity of the College.
